Barry Amos Appointed City Manager
On May 6, 2008 the City Council confirmed the appointment of Barry Amos as City Manager. The vote was five to zero with one absence. Mr. Amos served as City Manager of Tyrone in Fayette County from 1996 until 2008, and was City Engineer for Peachtree City from 1982 until 1993. He continues to maintain his professional certification in civil engineering. He and his wife, Connie, currently reside in Peachtree City. They are the parents of two adult sons. The City Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of the municipal government and reports to the Mayor and City Council. The position was held by Mayor Peet for the past six years at the Mayor’s salary of $300.00 per month. Mayor Peet stated, “Council and I look forward to working with Mr. Amos. With his help we expect to achieve our goals more quickly and efficiently.” |
